The use of technological devices has become a fundamental need for humans. Their characteristics allow access to goods and services throughout of the world, thus achieving their interconnection. However, these devices, despite being novel and functional, have become a problem for the environment and public health by the lack of proper management and final disposal. (UIT, 2007).
Access understood as the opportunity that allows us to guarantee that all children of Colombia strengthen their learning with the help of Information and Communications Technologies. Computadores para Educar has understood that technology is a means to transform information into knowledge and to promote its inclusion as a pedagogical and educational tool.
Additional to providing computer equipment to educational institutions, libraries and houses of culture, Computadores para Educar has the strategy of educational innovation and use of ICT for learning —ETIC@—, as a major axis to contribute to the improvement of the educational quality and reduction of social and regional divides in the country.

After four days of activities in which the members of the education sector shared their experiences in the field of innovation and technology, the eighteenth edition of Virtual Educa ended. next year, the event will be held in Bahía, Brazil.

The topics of ICT and Education have been during this week the protagonists of the XVIII Virtual Educa International Meeting – 2017, which had more than 15,000 attendees among teachers, directors, students, and researchers.

The Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies, through Computadores para Educar, will install 310 solutions, that include solar panels, in an equal number of non-interconnected rural venues of 10 departments of the country.
